Top activities in Martinique
1. Electric pedal boat & snorkelling
This activity is ideal to enjoy the splendid Anses d’Arlet. It is on this occasion that we discovered the existence of the electric pedal boat! This concept is really great and especially ecological, compared to a boat for example. The electric pedal boat at Tikano was designed by a young French engineer. It is simple: only one person pedals, assisted by an electric motor to move faster and less tired! Capacity of the pedal boats: 3 adults or 2 adults + 2 children. The comfort is optimal, we are far from the basic pedal boat all in plastic! The covering is made of cork to avoid burning your feet in the sun, there is a cooler at your disposal and you will be sitting on a big FatBoy cushion. Steeve, the owner of Tikano will welcome you and propose you “aperitif” formulas for your well-being on the water in collaboration with the famous restaurant Ti Sable. You will have the freedom to go and isolate yourself in the calmness to take your little aperitif and/or to explore the seabed ! We strongly recommend that you reserve 2 hours because time flies. Even if there is a protective canvas, do not forget the sun cream and especially your masks and snorkels! For all information and online booking, it’s here: https://www.tikano-martinique.com/
5. Authentic tour
If you want to get off the beaten track with a local guide (duration: 5 hours) and take an authentic tour of Martinique, we recommend this excursion. Among other things, you will be able to admire the know-how of local artists in Trois Ilets, go snorkeling (equipment provided), discover a viewpoint and visit a rum distillery with a tasting.
We hope we have given you some original ideas for activities in Martinique. If you have any other suggestions, do not hesitate to leave us a comment !
4. Catamaran day trip – Les Fonds Blancs
The Delphis Stroll We did the excursion called Josephine’s bathtub. This trip starts at 9am at the fishing port of Le François. For the program of this day, you will discover :
- the famous Josephine’s Bathtub, according to us a little oversold. The problem of the place is that it is too crowded. With the passage of more and more boats, the sand started to disappear little by little, which took away its splendor.
- Passage in front of the îlet Loup-Garou : ornithological reserve where marine turtles come to lay their eggs.
- Chancel islet: slaves were exploited on this islet, so the place is full of history. It also shelters a particular species of iguanas.
- swimming in the white bottom of the îlet Madame : nice place but there are a lot of sea urchins on the sand (huge ones).
- last swim between Thierry and Oscar islets before returning to the port at 5 pm.
Price : 85€ per person, booking here If we had to choose, we greatly preferred the Diamond Rock trip: better boat and more interesting stops!

3. Catamaran day trip – South of Martinique
Diamond Rock
Activity in Martinique not to be missed: a boat trip! For our first catamaran cruise, we chose to explore the south of the island on the Diamond Rock.
The departure is from the pontoon of the Carayou hotel at the Pointe du bout (in Trois Ilets). The boat is 23 meters long and 11 meters wide and is very comfortable! As soon as you arrive, you will be taken in hand by a very friendly and dynamic team, and you will be offered refreshments, alcoholic or not.
Once the sail is hoisted, we go to the Diamond Rock to observe it closely and to know its history. It was really very interesting, we don’t go into details, we prefer to leave you the surprise.
For the second step, we went to Anses d’Arlet to swim in the crystal clear water and/or to visit this typical village. The snorkeling enthusiasts will be delighted with the hundreds of fish to observe! After this stop, a Creole lunch will be offered on the boat (fish or chicken). The quantities are generous and the products very good (special mention to the fish).
Then, we go to Grande Anse for a swim with the turtles! Sometimes you have to be patient but it is a magical moment to live. Masks / snorkels / flippers are available.
Before returning to the pontoon, the captain will stop one last time to explore the bat cave thanks to the catamaran’s tender. You will be back at 5pm with a lot of memories!

2. Quad Hiking
For people with aquaphobia or simply those who want to enjoy the interior of the island with an unusual activity, we propose a quad hiking with Benoit. You will find this activity on Atawane’s website which gathers several activities to discover on the island. Be careful, this is not a ride. It is a real adventure through the forest that awaits you! You will be well supervised, everything is safe, but keep in mind that you will cross obstacles and muddy paths. Do not forget to pack your things, you will not end up clean. We loved this time spent with Benoit who knows the flora by heart and taught us a lot of things. If you are good, you might get a coconut with a bit of rum. Adrenaline and surpassing yourself 100% guaranteed!
In his 14 hectares, Benoit also proposes sessions of Paintball and many other animations.
